Much like a certain princess who came before her, Aurora Skye waits for true love’s first kiss. Unlike Sleeping Beauty, she thinks that “Cupid is understaffed” and needs a little help to ensure her happily ever after (and her friends’). In order to secure her future, she has developed a plan for identifying potential princes and dates some that look promising, but guards her first kiss until a worthy prince can claim it. Once she lands the role of Beatrice in the school production of Much Ado About Nothing – playing opposite her obnoxious neighbor Hayden Paris – her timeline is accelerated. There’s no way she wants to give her first kiss away on stage – especially to Hayden! A swoon-worthy bouquet and poem from a secret admirer makes her think she may have found the one. If only she knew who he was…

This story is every bit as funny as the title suggests, starting with one hilarious kiss-avoidance technique that lands Aurora in a mud puddle. Aurora tries to control every aspect of her life—family troubles, friends, and, of course, her own romantic struggle—with little success. The love story is tremendously predictable, but it’s told so well that I didn’t even care. Read this for a feel-good story with plenty of hijinks.
