Cat Got Your Crown: A Kitty Couture Mystery (Kitty Couture Mysteries)
In the fourth book of the Kitty Couture Mystery series, Lacy Crocker has found herself involved in yet another murder. Being no stranger to murders, she has the same gumption as the police to catch the culprit. In Cat Got your Crown, Lacy is working with her mother to help run the National Pet Pageant that is being held in New Orleans. Shortly after meeting officer Jack Oliver before lunch, the MC of the event, Viktor Petrov, is seen falling from a balcony to his death. One of Lacy’s committee sisters, Eva Little, is seen where he last was, and consequently becomes the prime suspect. Lacy must work quickly to solve this murder that is becoming very personal to her as she receives threats and abuse along the way.
Not having read the previous three novels, I felt that the author did well to make this a stand-alone novel so that the reader can understand why things are happening and what has happened previously. I liked how the murder started right away and how in every chapter the reader learns something new. This book is great in that it takes you on a journey of so many emotions: from pride, to fear, to suspicion, and even love.
