Black Coral: A Thriller (Underwater Investigation Unit)
No one would say that Sloan McPherson’s life is boring. As a diver for the Underwater Investigations Unit, she’s called to the scene of an accident to retrieve a body trapped in a car. In order to do her job, she’ll have to be aware of the many alligators that call the large pond home, including one named Big Bill, who is not named ironically.
After a close encounter with Big Bill, she stumbles upon a different vehicle underwater, which leads to the discovery of four teenagers who went missing on their way home from the Black Coral amphitheater thirty years earlier. At first, it looks like an accident, but Sloan begins to find other crimes that fit the pattern and discovers there may be a serial killer who started with those teenagers and hasn’t stopped yet. The only way to catch him is to act as bait. Sloan can outwit most predators, but this is a kind she hasn’t encountered before.
This book is absolutely amazing! It’s even better than the first in the series. I loved the mention of Dr. Cray. The book features fantastic characters as well as a thrilling plot. I could not put it down! Andrew Mayne never ceases to amaze me. This one is highly recommended!
