This is what no parent would ever want. Suzette and Alex are caring parents of seven-year-old Hanna. The only problem? Hanna is evil. But no one knows this because she doesn’t speak. Her parents bring her to all types of doctors, but the doctors cannot find anything physically wrong with Hanna. From the very beginning of this book, I was skeptical and wondered if one or both of the protagonists were lying. The book is written from the point of view of both Hanna and Suzette. And although the two characters really don’t know what the other is thinking, they manage to work against each other throughout the book. The fact that Hanna does not speak except for when she is her evil alter ego is really disturbing, and I wondered if the little girl was possessed. I really enjoyed this book; however, I felt the ending could have been a lot less predictable. I was waiting for a twist in the storyline or a piece of crucial information to be revealed by the author, but it never came. This story had well-developed characters and a quickly paced plot. I wouldn’t necessarily put it in the horror category because it really wasn’t that scary, even though the little girl was really disturbed. It was more of a domestic thriller.
