Biden: The Obama Years and the Battle for the Soul of America
Biden: The Obama Years and the Battle for the Soul of America is a book of some of the nine hundred thousand (wow!) photographs taken throughout the Biden vice presidency by his official photographer, David Lienemann. The collection of photos is heartwarming and poignant, as we see the former Vice President with his family, with President Obama, and in his official duties.
Throughout the book are pages that tell particular stories in text. These stories are well-written and capture details that may not be evident from the photos themselves. Some of them tell the stories of how Vice President Biden met people throughout his extensive travels, and how he made those people feel seen, heard, and valued. Most memorable for me were the photos of Biden with his family. They have had so much heartache, but it is clear from this beautiful book that their family loves each other more than anything.
This book does a great job of chronicling Biden’s eight years as Vice President, as well as showing what a kind, caring, decent man he is.
