This book started off like other self-help, entrepreneurial mom books. It had funny stories that moms could relate to and ways to juggle all of the atrocities of life while still staying who you are as a person. No new topics, but at the same time I’m a girl who doesn’t mind skimming through, reading anecdotal stories, and finding the juicy tidbits that we are all looking for in a book like this. Give me the content!

The book went on a sharp downturn halfway through, and I almost didn’t finish it because of one horrible part in it. In fact, the author was actually trying to demonstrate how to use stories to get people’s attention. This chapter completely backfired (at least for me it did) when the author described her husband’s story of leaving a fecal mess all over a Target bathroom and playing it off when the poor employee exclaimed how disgusting it was, and how in the world did it get on the wall? That, my friends, is what made the author want to marry her husband instead of dumping him. She felt he was so open and genuine to share that story with her, never-minding the fact that he left his poop all over for someone else to clean. Is this what she is teaching her kids it is okay to do? How can you not judge someone’s standards when they are proud of something like this? Gross and unnecessary. This book really had nothing new in it in terms of self-help boss chick books.
