Brag Better: Master the Art of Fearless Self-Promotion will teach the reader the essential life-skill of how to brag better and effectively. Most commonly, the word bragging has a negative connotation placed on it in our society, but Fineman teaches us that that’s far from the truth. Being able to brag effectively is a kind of art, and when you can master it, this skill will open for you many doors. Fineman references many skilled women and leaders in our society to prove her point that when you work on and master her advice, the perception of women and “The Qualified Quiet” will drastically change.

Brag Better came across to me as a feminist book, but the information applies to both genders. I like how Fineman divided the book into three sections and started with introductions of herself and the usage of bragging, then dove into manageable ways of helping yourself and your careers through the use of bragging. The third section shows how once you can brag with ease, anxiety and uncertainty will diminish, and because of your increased self-confidence and knowledge of how to present yourself to the public, the world is yours. Fineman has written a necessary book for many people, including me!
