Choose Me tells the story of a girl named Taryn Moore and her rather obsessive behavior towards the men in her life. After the boy she has been dating since high school breaks up with her, Taryn starts stalking him and his new girlfriend. But then, Taryn’s attention is directed to someone new, the teacher of a seminar called Star-Crossed Lovers, Professor Jack Dorian. As Taryn pushes her way into Jack’s good graces, Jack finds himself liking Taryn and spending time with her even though he is married.
This book is very well written and starts at the scene of the crime where Taryn’s body is found. Detectives Frankie and Mac are on the case to find out whether or not Taryn committed suicide or if she was killed. The chapters are narrated by Frankie, Jack, and Taryn so it is easy to paint a picture of what is going through each character’s mind as they make decisions. Fast-paced with something happening at every turn of the page, this book is perfect for fans of thrillers such as Gone Girl or The Girl on the Train.
