Don’t Open the Door: A Novel (Regan Merritt Series, 2)

Don’t Open the Door is a captivating suspense novel that focuses on an investigation led by the US Marshals which is then taken over by the FBI. Marshall Tommy Granger is in love with his ex-partner, Regan Merritt. After Regan’s young son, Chase, is murdered in their own home and she and her husband Grant divorce, Regan moves from Virginia to Arizona to be with family. Tommy vows to find out why killer Adam Harrington murdered Chase but in the process, gets killed before he can tell his boss, Charlie, the evidence he has found pointing to an underlying conspiracy. The killer takes the evidence with him. When Regan finds out Tommy was killed, she vows to put together the pieces of the stolen puzzle.

Don’t Open the Door had an exciting and fast pace. There were times when characters did not know who to trust even if it was a member of their own family. Regan’s strong will is admirable as she fights to find justice both for Tommy and Chase. The characters in this book have many layers and the action scenes are that out of a movie. This is a fantastic read for fans of David Baldacci and Chevy Stevens.
