Lauren Douglas’s F*ck Anxiety is perfectly titled and explains how everyone feels about the subject. The percentage of people who suffer and struggle with anxiety is crazy, but if you check out the book, you can learn 101 Ways to Soothe Anxiety, Stop the Panic, + Get Back to Your Badass Self. The title is an appropriate foreshadowing to Douglas’s word choices within—a bit of foul language, but perhaps appropriate to get in the mood for a battle against anxiety, which is in no shape or form a friend to anyone. Nothing unobtainable is asked of the reader; it is all accomplishable if they have a strong enough desire to kick anxiety.
Reading through the book, there are so many options for how to dismiss your anxiety that I’m not sure where else you would need to turn. Some tips are ones I’m familiar with, such as distractions and maintaining your water, food, and sunlight intake to healthy levels, but even the familiar ones came across the pages differently to me because of the unique way they are explained. F*ck Anxiety is an entertaining and informative read.
