Grand Theft Horse is a mix of comic and history. It tells the tale of a spirited woman named Gail Ruffu who loved horses and gave up everything for one. Urgent Envoy was that horse. Three words that describe him are spirited, determined, and stubborn. Envoy was forced into racing, and horrible things happened. Along the way, they faced drugs, arrest, and much more. And the reason for all this was a lawyer named Bud Clayton who didn’t like people to get the best of him. Gail didn’t have enough money, so she hired Bud to lower the price, which rewarded him with 20 percent ownership. Gail stole the horse to save him from Bud’s clutches. I repeatedly found myself thinking, “Did this really happen?”

I can see that Corban Wilkin is a truly talented writer because he takes the confusion and distress on the paper and allows readers to feel that emotion. At one point, I even got nervous reading it! I’ve read many books in my life, and Grand Theft Horse is one of my favorites. It allows readers to sit down, relax, and enjoy the book besides learning. I enjoyed this book, and I think you will too.
