Her Dying Day: A Novel
Her Dying Day is one of the best books I’ve read all year. Author Greer Larkin went missing under very suspicious circumstances twenty years ago. Now, June, a film student and big fan of Greer is ready to do her final project of the year for her film class. She sets about interviewing Greer’s ex-fiancee Jonathan, a narcissist whom restaurant onlookers saw slap Greer the night before her disappearance. He has always been the main suspect in Greer’s disappearance. June also interviews Greer’s mother, her ex-best friend, and her book editor.
This book had me turning its pages like a mad woman wanting to find out what would happen next. The author does a great job of creating a sense of danger when June starts finding notes telling her to stay away; one of which was attached to her front door with a chef’s knife. As June puts the clues together she realizes that the threats may actually be tied to the storylines of Greer’s books. There is a small side story in the book that I found irrelevant to the story as a whole, however, it did not take up much of the book so it wasn’t a real distraction. This is a fantastic book for fans of suspense!
