Kylie Jean: Vacation Queen
Kylie Jean is back with another adventure, this time a family vacation. Kylie Jean is on her summer vacation and, like any normal kid, she’s bored! As she reads the book she checked out from the library, she gets the idea that she needs an adventure! At first, she thinks a trip to the Australian Outback is what she needs, but when her father comes home from work and announces he’ll be accepting an award in New York City, she knows that’s the perfect adventure.
This adorable book portrays a happy family as they take a road trip together. Kylie Jean brings her “best cousin” Lucy with her. Together, they use an atlas to draw up a route and itinerary for their trip from Texas to New York. The girls choose a surprise stop for each family member based on what they like. They stay in a cabin, camp in a tent, and stay in a hotel as their trip progresses. It culminates in New York City, where Kylie Jean gets to see the Statue of Liberty, which she calls the “Queen” of Liberty because of her big crown.
A delightful story with a dollop of tourist information and a lot of family love.
