Ladykiller: A Novel
Ladykiller is an intense thriller that readers will find themselves immersed in. When Abby and Benny arrive in Sweden for Gia’s birthday, they receive a message saying Gia is ill and won’t be able to make it. Then a strange man appears on Abby’s balcony. Told from the alternating perspectives of the possibly unreliable character, Gia, and her best friend, Abby, this book will have readers guessing what really happened.
I loved how Gia’s chapters were written in the form of her book manuscript. It was difficult to determine if her writing was fact or fiction which made the book different than any other thriller I’ve read.
The setting is on a beautiful Greek island which makes the atmosphere feel quaint and intimate. The food and drinks sound absolutely delicious and a swim in the clear ocean was like a dream come true. Readers will be able to feel the warm Mediterranean sun on their skin as the author describes the characters relaxing on the beach.
The build up to the end of the story moved smoothly and at the perfect pace, although, I felt the ending fell a bit short as there were several bits to the storyline that were left to the reader’s imagination.
