A caption on the cover says “Make a Kid’s Time Capsule”–that is an honest summation of this parent/child workbook.

This is an interactive exercise manual that’s designed so that a child engages in self-reflection and some exploration of the wider environment–geographical, artistic, and cultural–of Northern California. Child participation and attention are essential here, and activities include filling in a list of favorite animals, posting a picture of themselves, and picking a hero or a celebration. And when you have covered all of that and the child has partaken in it all, the book is designed to be set aside for some years. Revisitation should be another interactive time. Readers and writers of a couple of year’s experience should do well herein. Hard backed, so it may well survive a decade’s delay in revisiting, and glossy, so it will not dissolve, as so many children’s presentations do, this is a fine bid for bonding.
