Travelers are presented with options for several different trips, from long weekend drives to a three-week road trip spanning the whole coast. It gives unique attention to the various state parks that hug the coast but balances the trailheads and historic exhibits with lots of shopping and dining option along the way.

Too often one travel book looks just like the next, blending together with bright pictures and a tangle of information. Pacific Coast Highway Roadtrip stood out of this static for two main reasons. The first is that I am personally very fond of road trips. The second is the structure of the book itself. I loved the vivid descriptions. Destinations were logically clustered along the coast and each was paired with an attention-grabbing fact like filming locations and local histories.
