Mr. Nogginbody Gets a Hammer
Mr. Nogginbody is sliding across the room in his house. He loves to slide around the house in his socks. But something is sticking up and — Ouch! — that something snags his foot. It is a nail sticking up from the floor. Mr. Nogginbody sees an ad on TV for a hardware store, and he thinks that it is a good place to get a tool to fix the nail in the floor. When he gets to the hardware store, he is able to buy a shiny new HAMMER! That is exactly what he needs to fix the nail. It works fine. In fact, it works so well he decides to fix other nails and things that look slightly like nails and things that have nothing to do with nails. Things get pretty out of hand with Mr. Nogginbody and the hammer.
Author and illustrator David Shannon has written a wacky and silly book and filled it with silly and wacky illustrations. Mr. Nogginbody is a silly looking guy with wacky ideas. But youngsters will probably find the silliness just fine and the wackiness perfectly okay.
