Never Tell: A Novel (A D.D. Warren and Flora Dane Novel)
Lisa Gardner does it again in Never Tell. Detective D.D. Warren and Flora Dane work together to solve a not-so-easy-to-solve mystery.
Evie Carter is found holding the gun that killed her husband after police arrive investigating gunshots. There are multiple bullet holes in her husband’s laptop computer as well. This is not the first time Evie has been accused of murder. As a child, she was accused of killing her own father accidentally with his shotgun. But Evie claims that she shot her husband and the computer after he was dead. She did it to protect her husband of any wrongdoings when he was alive. Detective Warren knows there is something not quite right with Evie’s story and is ready to get to the bottom of it.
This story was exciting and fast-paced with brilliant characters. Gardner does a great job of developing each character and writing from different points of view so you can understand what each character is thinking. This book comes with a fabulous twist at the end that left my mouth open, jaw dropped. An excellent read for fans of mystery and suspense.
