Ocean Renegades! (Earth Before Us #2): Journey through the Paleozoic Era

Ocean Renegades is a good educational graphic novel. It is about a little girl named Ronnie, who goes to stay with Miss Lernin when her parents go on a business trip. Her last stay with Miss Lernin involved dinosaurs, so Ronnie thinks she will have a big adventure. Then they arrive at the aquarium’s jellyfish exhibit. She thinks that jellyfish can’t possibly be as exciting as dinosaurs! Can they?

This is a highly informative graphic novel. It talks about all the amazing life that existed during the Paleozoic Era. For example, Dvinosaurus was an amphibian that lived near the end of the Permian period. He looked like a giant salamander. Arthropleura was a giant millipede and the largest arthropod that has ever walked on land! It was longer than an adult human is tall! Dunkleosteus was one of the largest placoderms that has ever lived. Placoderms were armored fish. Only its head has been found, so we don’t know exactly how big it was when alive.

My favorite thing about this book is that is in highly entertaining but also very informative!
