Ramses the Damned: The Passion of Cleopatra
Twenty-eight years later, Anne Rice finally returns to Ramses the Damned in The Passion of Cleopatra. After waking from his immortal slumber to save Julie Stratford from death, Ramses, the pharaoh of ancient Egypt, hides behind his forged identity as archaeologist Reginald Ramsey. In restoring Cleopatra with the same elixir that granted him eternal life, Ramses must now race through Egypt and England to find the reanimated queen before she kills everyone he has come to love.
Picking up where the first novel ended, Julie and Ramses are enjoying life and looking forward to their upcoming wedding when they learn that Cleopatra is still alive but slowly losing her mind. Across the ocean, Sybil Parker finds her dreams of ancient Egypt are more vivid, with memories of ruling an empire becoming stronger each day. The race to find Cleopatra is further complicated when another mysterious beneficiary of the elixir desires the original recipe to the potion to create a new race of gods.
For those who loved the first book, The Passion of Cleopatra won’t disappoint readers. Partnering with her author-son Christopher Rice, the two have managed to write a sequel that keeps the feel of the first novel. Readers are left wondering, once again, whether the story will continue.
