Relentless, the tenth book in the Gray Man series, continues where the last book left off. As the protagonist, Court Gentry, a CIA assassin, is in hospital recovering from his previous mission, he finds out that an NSA officer has gone missing. To complicate things, he has a computer disk with lots of information about other CIA operatives working undercover worldwide. To make things even scarier, CIA agents begin to disappear soon afterwards. Gentry is tasked with tracking down the NSA officer by any means necessary.

In addition, Gentry’s lover, Zoya Zakharova, is a former Russian intelligence officer who defected to the United States and now works as an operative in a top-secret CIA program called “Poison Apple.” She is tasked by her superiors with infiltrating a private American consulting company that has questionable connections. Ultimately, these two storylines converge to make for a thrilling and suspenseful storyline.

Mark Greaney is truly a master of his genre. The book’s plot is full of surprising twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. Important characters are very well-developed and multidimensional, especially the protagonist, Court Gentry, who is constantly developing throughout the Gray Man series. I would definitely recommend Relentless, as well as the previous books in the series, to any spy thriller aficionado.
