Rizzoli & Isles: Listen to Me: A Novel
Listen to Me is the first Rizzoli & Isles book I have ever read, and it did not disappoint! In fact, I’m surprised I have not picked up one of these books sooner. The chapters are each told from the different perspectives of the main characters. Jane Rizzoli is a head detective and works with Maura Isles, the Medical Examiner. Angela Rizzoli is Jane’s very nosy mother who thinks that it is up to her one-person neighborhood watch team to keep things in order on her street. Jane is working on a case with her partner Barry in which a local nurse named Sofia was found dead in her home. Some of the chapters are narrated by a young woman named Amy. Amy is the stepdaughter of a doctor whom Sofia worked with.
This book was very well-planned and laid out. The story comes together in the end, and even though Angela is a really annoying character, she ultimately saves the day. I plan to pick up the other Rizzoli & Isles books because this one was just so good.
