Sylvie and Dan go together for their yearly physical. When the doctor announces they’re destined for longevity and will likely have another 68 years of marriage ahead of them, they freak out a little. Sixty-eight years of marriage looms over them, and they worry how in the world they’ll remain happy together for all those decades. In order to save their marriage, Sylvie and Dan decide to surprise each other to keep things fresh and interesting. Little do they realize that they’ll discover far more than the little surprises they plan.

This is a fast read; however, it does introduce some heavy truths about marriage. Sylvie and Dan are likeable, although a little unrelatable sometimes, but overall their quest to enrich their marriage is admirable. Each has some humorous fails while they plan their special surprises, but Sylvie and Dan face the biggest surprise of all when they discover some very well kept secrets. Overall, this is an enjoyable read that alternates between light and funny and introspective. Well worth a read.
