The Abundance Project: 40 Days to More Wealth, Health, Love, and Happiness
Overall, I enjoyed reading The Abundance Project by Derek Rydall.
I felt like the book was fairly well balanced between the spiritual aspects and the mental aspects. I felt like the book helped me to see things differently and helped me to find joy in even the smallest things, despite the negative things going on around me. I felt like the book helped me to take some steps–realizing that if I don’t make some moves, I will never achieve the goals that I need to move forward. I felt like the book allowed me to shift my perspective in life and not hold onto the negatives. I have not read his first book but am looking forward to picking it up and reading it as well. I think that his advice is practical and not over-the-top, which makes the book a useful tool. I enjoyed his talk about the creative process and not waiting for the perfect idea to come along but embracing all of the ideas that flow until one seems just right. Perhaps my favorite quote from the book is by John C. Maxwell: “You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.” It seems so simple, but it is actually one of the hardest things to change. I also enjoyed the lists throughout the main chapters to help you see what your focuses were on and where you are in life. I found the book thought-provoking, challenging, and engaging.
