The Best Damn Answers to Life’s Hardest Questions: A Flowchart Book
There’s no denying that flowcharts make things easier. They break down your options delightfully into simple maps which deliver you straight to your conclusion. If only there were flowcharts for everyday questions like “it’s 2 AM, what do I order?” or “should I have a second drink?”
Thanks to Tess Koman, now there are. The Best Damn Answers to Life’s Hardest Questions is a collection of flowcharts drawn up for folks in their twenties and thirties, offering friendly advice for how to handle anxious choices, awkward moments, and potentially regretful actions.
It takes a second to figure out how to parse each flowchart, since some of the lines loop around and up, rather than continuing down, and the folds between pages make some of the lines harder to follow. Besides that, it’s a joy to travel down the myriad paths and see where your answers take you.
There are a few flowcharts thrown in with only one path to take. The concept is funny but feels a bit too meta given how short the book is, although it could serve as a bonding moment between reader and author. If the fake choices speak to you, you know you’re not alone on that score.
These might not be life’s hardest questions, but they are undoubtedly the best damn answers available.
