I had not read the original The Bitch in the House, but this updates those stories and provides new essays about relationships, sex, health, and attractiveness. It is very fun to read. All the essays are thought provoking and just the right length to pick up and read in a sitting. All of the contributors are professional writers, and their essays are candid and self-revelatory. “Wrinkles in Time” deals with menopause and the dilemma of fading youthfulness. “Her Life. My Life” is about a couple who had honeymooned in Paris in their youth. The honeymoon was a blissful drift in the City of Lights. When they return years later after years of child-raising and domestic life, the question is whether they can recapture what they once had or if they will be resigned to domesticated lives separated by the routine of their ordinary life. Women are sure to enjoy the choices that these talented and candid writers make in their lives. This book is sure to shed light on the choices we make and who we are as women.
