The Black Hole Debacle
Jordie has an issue and that is a rogue black hole is taking all of her stuff and causing her issues with her family and friends. Jordie is interested in astronomy and science. One day at school she finds a rogue black hole living in her desk. It begins to eat everything in her desk, including her schoolwork, pencils, and other items.
Jordie decides the black hole can’t stay at school and takes it home in her backpack, where it eats her water bottle, library books, and a softball glove. At home, the black hole acts no better in Jordie’s closet, but when her parents do not believe there is a rogue black hole in her closet, it is up to Jordie to figure out what to do.
This book is designed to teach science concepts to young children and does a fairly good job of it—besides the focus on the unicorn underwear. Children will learn about how black holes work in easy to understand language, though the book is designed for parents to read to their children.
