Bristol is holding it together after losing her parents and staying strong for her sisters. A mystery appears in the form of letters from a great-aunt who wants to meet with her. Despite not answering, the letters keep coming until she can’t ignore them anymore. When she discovers her father could be alive and was taken to another realm, she decides to learn the truth by traveling to this other world where she’ll encounter terrifying beings and make a deal with a charming fae king.

Bristol is a cautious character who has losses she’s working through and this evolves as she explores this other world. The sisterly relationships are a sweet aspect that gives depth and realness to her character. Pearson creates an immediate empathy for these characters and allows you to have a base understanding of who Bristol is before embarking on this journey so you can see how she grows. The perspectives switch between characters to let you see Bristol discovering this world and then see Tyghan as he’s part of the world. The Courting of Bristol Keats gives you the fantasy writing you live to see with crisp details, vivid imagery, and emotional depth that draws you into the world and instantly hooks you.
