The Enigma Affair
Patton Harcourt believed she had found an ideal place to live, the bucolic and secluded Alta Vista, North Carolina. She found it safe from her past, until an onslaught of bullets riddled her home kitchen. Initial thoughts about her potential assassins are rendered moot when she meets Nemo. Nemo is a proficient assassin hired for a piece of work, but now sees a double cross from his employers. He offers Patton aid in order to get some answers. Patton is a librarian who befriended a World War II veteran named Jasper. Jasper confided in Patton and left her a way to unravel a mystery dating back to the waning days of World War II. Patton and Nemo head off to Europe, but not without killers nipping at their trail. A woman who yearns to reinvigorate the Third Reich wants the information Patton has and will kill for it.
The Enigma Affair doesn’t tarry in raising the pulse of the reader with bullets and imminent danger in its opening salvo. Author Charlie Lovett(“Escaping Dreamland”) blazes a path of action and intrigue where the heroes are damaged, but their resolve to deter a rebooting of the Nazi days keeps them going. A non-stop thrill ride.
