The Good Boss: 9 Ways Every Manager Can Support Women at Work
As a female in an executive role in which I manage a team built exclusively of women, I am well acquainted with the issues and challenges that women face in their careers. The Good Boss: Nine Ways Every Manager Can Support Women at Work by Kate Eberle Walker discusses these issues and gives practical, anecdotal tips for making your workplace one that empowers and supports women.
I would recommend that all managers – but especially managers who are men – read this book so that they can gain a better understanding of what their female employees face in the workplace on a daily basis. Eberle Walker also provides pragmatic tips for mentoring women to bring them to their fullest potential. The book is split into nine “rules” that will help you connect with your employees, show them respect, and mentor them effectively.
The Good Boss: Nine Ways Every Manager Can Support Women at Work emphasizes that when everyone in a company – men AND women – are given an environment in which they can succeed, the whole company will succeed.
