The Mother Next Door: A Novel of Suspense

Theresa is The Mother Next Door. She has recently moved with her husband and daughter to the elite Ivy Woods Drive suburbs. She discovers quickly that there is a group of moms, known as the Ivy Five, who plan a huge Halloween party every year. Theresa is brought into their group, since the Ivy Five have been the Ivy Four for a while, ever since one of their members left years ago after an accident. The group starts to get messages that threaten to expose all of their darkest secrets. Theresa has her own secrets and these mothers will have to decide how far they are willing to go to keep from being exposed. This Halloween might just be a night to die for.

Even being a mother and understanding wanting the best for your children, none of these mothers were terribly likable. They’ve made some very poor choices and put a lot of unnecessary pressure on their children. This is definitely a great book to look at the devastating outcomes of keeping secrets and taking justice into your own hands. Nothing earth-shattering here, but still an entertaining read nonetheless. A good one to add to your list if you’re stuck at home.
