The Official Eragon Coloring Book
Eragon has been a popular YA fantasy novel for a while now, and in The Official Eragon Coloring Book, Paolini and Ciruelo team up to transport us to the world of Alagaësia with a set of finely drawn scenes from the Inheritance cycle, including some of Paolini’s original art from Eragon. The book is constructed with a quote on the left page and the illustration of that quote on the right, and the pages are perforated to facilitate easy removal of your favorite images, a trait not often found in coloring books. The paper is also of an excellent quality, better than you might find in other books, which provides for a superior coloring experience. I tested both colored pencils and markers on the drawings, and the paper took both without smearing. If one felt so inclined, it might also accept watercolor paint as well. This is an excellent coloring book and fantastic tribute to the Inheritance cycle, but I would suggest making sure your pencils are sharp and your markers fine-tipped as the images are highly detailed and, in some cases, complex. It is definitely a coloring book for those with more grown-up hand-eye coordination.
