The Raid
From the ultraviolent world of The Raid movies set in Jakarta, Indonesia with crooked cops, gangsters fighting turf wars, and assassins looking for their next hit, comes this side story that feels kind of meh at times. Rama is the seemingly one good cop in Jakarta, where most cops are either corrupt or in the pockets of the mafia. Rama goes and arrests one of the top mafia bosses, but instead, Rama is sent to one of Jakarta’s most notorious and dangerous prisons. While in prison Rama must not only protect himself from the harden prisoners but another fellow cop who is also innocent. They must team up together to survive their trip into hell.
It is hard to do a martial arts comic as it can be hard to show the movements and fighting skills of the martial artists. There is just something about the smooth motion and artistry that is involved in a television show or movie. And this comic still has that same struggle, the fight scenes can be difficult to follow, a lot of jump cuts, and they still struggle to convey the art that is martial art onto the page.
