The Second Husband: A Novel
Emma’s husband was murdered just over two years ago, and the case was never solved. She’s since gotten remarried to Tom. As they are settling into their new life together, a detective visits Emma to let her know that they are reopening her first husband’s case. It seems that they have some new information, and they are beginning to look at Tom. Emma discovers that he had been keeping tabs on her long before they met, and she was a widow. Could The Second Husband have done in the first?
This story is a good example of the things we are willing to overlook with our spouses. It’s a great example of the flaws we all possess as human beings. How we constantly second guess ourselves, as well as lie to ourselves and others to save face. While I wouldn’t necessarily label this as thrilling, it was an entertaining read with a couple of murders to solve and no lack of suspects. It’s a quick read that is great to add to your fall reading list.
