The Stoner’s Coloring Book: Coloring for High-Minded Adults
You don’t necessarily have to be high to engage with this coloring book, just feel free to use any color emitting utensil, be it pen, marker, crayon, ink, food dye, or what-have-you to bring these illustrations to life. This collection of more than forty sketches was created by nine separate ‘stoners’ coming from the States’ east and west coasts and even one from South America. The colorist can try to determine whether these images reflect the personality of the artist, or if the designs reflect out-of-the-world scenes. To this reviewer, the illustrations appear pretty tame compared to other coloring book publications. Still, once infused with color, the picture might be rendered hallucinogenic, at least to the eyes of the viewers and their state of mind. Fortunately, the drawings are clearly placed on single pages with a blank back-side, but it would be nice to have a ring binder or more easily opened book for easier access to the coloring pages. It is fashionable to be high nowadays, yet it depends on your outlook to see how soaring these pictures will take you. Still, there is a yoga-like serenity that tranquilizes those who engage in coloring book exercises; see if this is the right prescription for you.
