The Summer House Murder

We rated this book:

Every year, sisters Esme, Piper, and Regina and their families spend two weeks at their summer house on Lake George. No one really looks forward to it, since each has their own secrets and struggles. They’ve never really been a close family, but when a woman’s body is found in the lake, things get really strained. The Summer House Murder will either make or break these sisterly bonds, but one thing is for sure: secrets are coming to the surface.

|I’m not really sure what to think about this story. There aren’t any particularly likable characters, and it doesn’t end well. You realize pretty early on that you don’t care and that people are getting what they deserve, and some even more than they deserve. There aren’t any winners in this story, even the one who declares they’ve won. I know that families can be messed up and can be built on secrets and lies, but this seemed a bit over the top. Overall, it was a bit fantastical to me; however, if you enjoy extreme family drama, then you might enjoy this one.
