Therapist: A Novel
In The Therapist, Alice and Leo have recently bought a house in a gated community in London. At first, Alice loves it, but she becomes upset when she learns the house was so cheap because the woman who lived there before was murdered. Alice becomes consumed with discovering who really killed her. No one in the community will help her as they all want to move on and assume the husband did it, since he killed himself soon after. Then, a mysterious stranger shows up claiming to be looking into the murder and Alice begins working with him to solve the case. They discover the woman was seeing a therapist, whom no one can identify. The secrets and lies are starting to pile up in the tiny community and Alice isn’t quite sure who to trust anymore.
I absolutely loved Behind Closed Doors, so I was so excited to read the latest from B.A. Paris. The twists and turns were great. I was thoroughly convinced I had the bad guy figured out, but in a classic Paris twist, the solution was completely different than what I thought. I would have loved to know more about the accident with Alice’s family, but otherwise the book is undeniably amazing!
