The Woman in Me
I was excited to receive my copy of Britney Spears’ memoir, The Woman in Me. I remember the exact time in my life when I would turn on TRL on MTV on the TV and see her hit Baby, One More Time playing. The song was just so catchy and the video was fun and youthful. After reading Britney’s memoir, I realized that no one would have guessed what horrors she had been through and what she would endure as she rose to fame. The memoir reads exactly as if Britney was sitting right there in your living room with you telling you her story. Stripped of everything from her little boys to her money, Britney was manipulated and controlled by her parents and others who she thought had her best interests at heart. This memoir is heartbreaking and I could feel Britney’s pain as she described the abuse she went through. This book is well-written, easy to read, and candid. The Woman in Me is a must-read for any Britney Spears fan.
