We’ll Fly Away
We’ll Fly Away by Bryan Bliss follows two boys, Toby and Luke, through their different, and very difficult, life experiences. The only way that they are able to survive, even on the days that they just want to give up, is by how close they are to freedom–the freedom to leave their dead-end town, the freedom to go someplace new, and the freedom to reinvent themselves. But the series of choices that they make in those last few months may take away the freedom that they so desperately desire.
We’ll Fly Away kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time, wondering what would happen next. The way that We’ll Fly Away is written depicts both the past and the future. The future is written in vague letters, letters that will give away clues to what happened in the past. The past written in chapters, leading up to the future, showing how the choices Toby and Luke made lead to freedom.
