Rose has been estranged from her daughter, Louisa, for years. When Louisa goes missing, along with the two small children of a wealthy family that she was nannying, Rose isn’t sure if she should help. She hardly knows her daughter and what she’s been like since she was gone. The authorities, as well as Rose, aren’t sure if Louisa and the children were taken or if she took them herself. The clock is ticking and Rose will do whatever it takes to find her daughter no matter the circumstances.

This is a visceral story that will draw you in, with drama so palpable, you feel like you are actually part of the investigation. The author does a wonderful job with every character. There are no minor or meaningless characters here and they are full of flaws and depth. Every chapter keeps you hanging on, wanting to know what is going to happen as you don’t even know what kind of story it is until about half way through. I absolutely recommend this to those who love thrillers with strong female characters, both good and bad.
