In You Can Invest Like a Stock Market Pro, James Pattersenn, Jr., helps his readers understand the basics behind investing in the stock market. I enjoyed reading Pattersenn’s easy-to-understand format. The chapters were short and concise yet filled with helpful insights and information on everything from how to find “extra” money to invest to how to choose the best stocks with strategy. He uses several examples of investments that he made, when or if he traded them and why, and how they are currently doing. There were also several formulas that he used to calculate the growth of stocks. I also enjoyed the quotes he intermittently wrote throughout the book from famous successful investors. Pattersenn explains the difference between worry-free trading and risk-free trading, of which the latter does not exist. The investor is always taking a risk when putting money into the stock market but does not need to be blind in doing so. He teaches the difference between long-term investment versus day trading and which one is smarter. He also gives a list of resources to use when following companies. Overall, this book is what anyone needs who would like to invest money in the stock market. This would be a great book for high schools and colleges to assign in their business and economics classes.
