Comfortable with Uncertainty: 108 Teachings on Cultivating Fearlessness and Compassion
Comfortable with Uncertainty is a selection of various pieces from the works of Pema Chodron centered around fearlessness and compassion. Her writing is inspiring and relatively accessible for readers with a basic understanding of Buddhism and meditation. I wouldn’t suggest it as an introduction, however. What’s fascinating about Chodron’s writing is that she is able to relate these very specific Buddhist stories and principles in modern terms. She makes it relevant to contemporary readers. I enjoyed the pieces about tonglen, which is a practice I am “practicing” more. Also, because each reflection is only a page, the book is easy to pick up and put down or read once a day.
