Tower Down: A Kirk McGarvey Novel
David Hagberg’s thriller Tower Down is the latest entry in his Kirk McGarvey series. The book begins with a devastating terrorist attack on a New York City skyscraper in which hundreds of people are killed. In the aftermath of the attack, the president tasks CIA agent Kirk McGarvey with an off-the-books mission to find those responsible. McGarvey believes that Saudi Arabia is behind the attack, and as he digs deeper he learns that the Saudis plan to drag the United States into a war. By this, Saudi Arabia hopes to kill two birds with one stone, both the United States and ISIS, which has been a thorn in their side. As McGarvey and his team analyze further, they discover that there is another terrorist plot against a New York skyscraper in the works. Now McGarvey and his team must work against the clock to stop the attack and save their country.
David Hagberg is an established thriller author, as evidenced by his previous twenty Kirk McGarvey thrillers. Tower Down does not disappoint. The author successfully fuses both a fast, riveting plot and great character development to make the story pop. In addition, since the author is a former member of the Air Force, the plot is very plausible and authentic.
All in all, Tower Down is a spectacular military and espionage thriller. If you like Tom Clancy or Brad Thor, then this book will be right up your alley.
