Hiding is one of childhood’s favorite games. In this book, three lines of six animals, drawn representationally, take turns hiding or crying or being angry. Children will have to look close to find the differences. There may be some turning to previous pages to catch the differences, although there is a key in the back of the book. When bear was angry, it was difficult for me to tell from the previous drawing. So it is challenging. Probably children would be more observant than I. Parents might be warned to do a read-through first to make sure they know who’s who. A totally fun book from this first-time author.
