You Can Run: A Novel
Another fast-paced CIA thriller by Karen Cleveland, You Can Run will leave you on the edge of your seat. CIA agent Jill Bailey is sent a cable one morning requesting the encryption of a new source named Falcon. Before she gets a chance to vet Falcon, her son Owen goes missing from daycare and she is told to approve the cable or else she will never see him again. She approves it and then quits the CIA. Jill, her husband, and their son move to Florida. Four years go by and not a word, until a reporter named Alex finds her and asks about Falcon. Scared “they’re” still after her, Jill makes the decision to partner with Alex to find out who is behind Falcon and the threats.
The story has a lot of important characters in it and moves very quickly. Cleveland writes in such a way that the words just float off the page and everything is very easy to visualize as you read it. This is the second book by her that I have read, and in both books, there was a fantastic jaw-dropping twist at the end.
