Feng Crochet: Calming Projects for a Harmonious Home
Feng Crochet by Nikki Van Der Car is a lovely book full of whimsical crochet patterns inspired by the tenants of Feng Shui. Beyond the brief introduction on what Feng Shui is and how it can be used in the home to create a more harmonious environment, you’ll find thirty patterns broken up by their inspirational element along with a stitch glossary and finishing instructions. The patterns are all simple enough for a beginner to be able to get their hook into and are designed so that there is something for everyone’s design aesthetic. The instructions are clear and concise and leave you with projects that are, for the most part, open and lacy and definitely reminiscent of their space on the Feng Shui wheel. The mix of photography and wireframe drawings in the book is quite visually pleasing, and there is a photo of every finished project, and sometimes their variations as well, to give the crafter a good idea of what their end product should look like. This is an excellent book for beginner and intermediate crocheters and is beautiful enough to be given as a gift to the yarn addict in your life.
