In Focus: Space
This book covers all different aspects of space. There are ten different subjects: “How it all began,” “Galaxies and Stars,” “The Sun and Solar System,” “The Earth,” “What’s up There?” “Life in Space,” “Getting to Space,” “Becoming an Astronaut,” “The Moon Landing,” and “Exploring Space.” Each one has a two-page spread that folds open to a magnificent four-page spread.
The text has great information. I learned so much about space from this book. It contains lots of great information in a fun, compact format. I love how the book is interactive by just opening it up. I really like the subject matter they chose for the book. I love that this book celebrated ten different illustrators so when you are looking at each spread you see the style done a little differently with each one. The illustrations are lovely in detail and compliment the text very well. The illustrators were chosen well by the art director.
My three- and six-year-old like this book, but the text seemed a little long for both. I would recommend this book for seven years old and up.
