Obsessed: A Psychological Thriller (A Michael Bennett Thriller, 15)

We rated this book:

Obsessed is the fifteenth book in James Patterson’s Detective Michael Bennett series. When several girls go missing and are found dead in and around New York City and New Jersey, the police don’t connect the cases. Until one of Bennett’s daughter’s friends goes missing. Suzanne Morton is the same age as Juliana and her parents are worried sick. She’s been gone for three weeks.

As Bennett uses his resources, including a pawn shop owner with connections, he finds out about an escort service named The Girlfriend Experience. Putting the pieces of the puzzle together, he must find the man who is killing these young girls.

Obsessed is fast-paced and full of action and humor. Some of the characters Bennett interviews are really something. When one guy stabs Bennett with ketamine and then starts crying after he gets caught, Bennett’s partner Terri Hernandez says, “You brought all this on yourself. Crying is for when you’re sad, not for when you’re just stupid.” I was laughing so hard at this line and am sure I will use it one day. Patterson and Born do another fantastic job on this installment and I’m sure other fans will agree.
